1. DE Shaw FinSpire Fellowship — 2022

FinSpire Fellowship is a three-day virtual program geared towards helping women in their first year of an undergraduate program explore future career possibilities in the world of finance. FinSpire fellows will have an opportunity to participate in a series of unique educational experiences.

The program brings together talented and intellectually curious fellows by offering:

  • First-hand industry exposure
  • Customized learning sessions and insightful interactions led by subject matter experts
  • Mentorship support from top minds in finance
  • Networking opportunities with a diverse group of women from
    various colleges across the country
  • A stipend of INR 10,000 for the duration of the program, along with goodies and more
  • Time commitment from each fellow is expected to be approx. 5–6 hours each day

Eligibility

The program is open to women who are currently in their first year of a full-time undergraduate program regardless of academic discipline. Prior knowledge of finance is not required. Fellows will be selected based on their resume, an aptitude test, and asynchronous interviews.

2. Google Summer of Code

Google Summer of Code is a global, online mentoring program focused on introducing new contributors to open source software development. GSoC contributors work with an open source organization on a 12+ week programming project under the guidance of mentors. Contributors will learn from experienced open source developers while writing code for real-world projects! A small stipend is provided as an incentive.

Since 2005, the Google Summer of Code program has connected 18,000+ new open source contributors from 112 countries !

Program Structure:

  • Potential GSoC contributors contact the mentor organizations they want to work with and write a project proposal based on ideas the organization has suggested.
  • Once accepted, GSoC contributors spend a few weeks becoming familiar with the community norms and codebase while determining expected milestones with their mentor for the summer.
  • GSoC contributors then spend 12+ weeks coding on their projects.

3. Linux Foundation Training (LiFT) Scholarship Program

With the goal to increase access to open source training, expand diversity in technology and create a clear pathway to the most in-demand and lucrative jobs in the IT industry, the Linux Foundation is hosting The Linux Foundation Training (LiFT) Scholarship Program to provide opportunities to up-and-coming developers and sysadmins who show promise for helping shape the future of Linux and open source software but do not otherwise have the ability to attend training courses or take certification exams.

The Linux Foundation Training Scholarships will cover the expenses for one eLearning class and one certification exam offered by The Linux Foundation at no cost.

The Linux Foundation is offering scholarships in each of the following categories:

  • Open Source Newbies: Individuals who are new to open source but have learned the basics by completing the Intro to Linux online course.
  • Women in Open Source: Women who have demonstrated leadership or want to take initiative in creating opportunity for themselves or other women in open source communities.
  • Software Developer Do-Gooder: developers who are using open source software to advance their communities.
  • SysAdmin Super Star: These applicants should have already begun using open source software in their workplace but want to take their work to the next level with additional training.
  • Blockchain Blockbuster: Individuals who have implemented and are using blockchain technologies in innovative ways and would benefit from advanced training.
  • Cloud Captain: Applicants who are working with open source cloud native technologies and need further training to enhance their organizations’ digital transformations.
  • Web Development Wiz: Individuals who have demonstrated skills in utilizing web development technologies in creative and unique ways.
  • Hardware Hero: Technology professionals, including in the embedded and IoT spaces, who are leveraging open source hardware directly, or innovating with open source software in a hardware-focused use case.
  • Cybersecurity Champion: Applicants who have championed cybersecurity readiness within their organization and/or the broader technology community, helping to enhance security and reduce the risk of successful attacks or breaches.
  • Linux Kernel Guru: Individuals who have already worked with the Linux kernel community and who can become more valuable contributors.

4. Arcesium She Codes 2022

Arcesium is a global financial technology and professional services firm, delivering post-investment and enterprise data management solutions to some of the world’s most sophisticated financial institutions.

She_Code_2022 is a programming challenge conducted by Arcesium to hire software developers who will drive technology innovations to directly impact billions of transactions in the investment life cycle. The selected participants will get the chance to build and deploy innovative services and data platforms using cutting-edge technology and real-world data.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Years of experience: 0–5 years (2021 and before graduates)
  • BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, or Information Technology

Challenge Format:

  • 2 Programming Questions

5. Microsoft Engage Mentorship Program

Microsoft engage is a mentorship program conducted by Microsoft. It is designed to provide a platform for engineering students to accelerate their growth and foster industry-relevant skills through mentorship, coding challenges, workshops and networking opportunities.

The program offers:

  • workshops & Ask Me Anything Sessions
  • multiple engagement and evaluation touchpoints
  • networking opportunities with Microsoft mentors, leaders and interns throughout the course of the program.
  • opportunity to interview and intern with Microsoft India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students graduating in 2024 enrolled in a full-time engineering program Bachelors, Masters, Integrated Dual Degree & related degrees
  • 6 CGPA and above

6. Google Developer Student Clubs Leads

Google Developer Student Club Leads are enthusiastic university leaders who are dedicated to helping their peers learn and connect. These Leads may be pursuing various undergraduate or graduate university degrees, but have good foundational knowledge of software development concepts.

Google collaborates with Leads and supports them as they start and grow their on-campus communities.

Eligibility:

  • Have a minimum of one year left until graduation
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university
  • Can commit to program for one year
  • Passionate about creating impact in community
  • Strong technical understanding of computer programming and/or software engineering
  • Have experience with event planning or leading a team
  • Have some connection to the local developer community
  • Host an event ideally once a month, and at least every 3 months
